What to Expect

Summer Stars is Ireland’s free national summer reading programme for children, running in all Cork City Library branches from 2 June to 31 August 2026. Children register at any branch and receive a bag, activity booklet, and bookmark. They read books, audiobooks, picture books, and graphic novels at their own pace over the summer and earn prizes. The programme is supported by regular storytime sessions and children’s events at branches throughout the city.

Getting There

Cork City Library’s main branch is on Grand Parade in Cork City centre. Other branches include Hollyhill, Douglas, Blackpool, Bishopstown, Mahon, Mayfield, and Tory Top.
