At St Colman's Cathedral · Cathedral Place, Cobh, Co. Cork
National Heritage Week 2026 (15 to 23 August) brings free guided tours of St Colman’s Cathedral in Cobh every afternoon. The cathedral is an exquisite example of Early French Gothic Revival architecture, completed in 1919 and perched dramatically above Cobh Harbour. Tours take visitors through the interior of the building, explaining its architectural and religious history. The cathedral houses Ireland’s only complete 49-bell carillon, which is also the largest in Ireland and England by number of bells.
St Colman’s Cathedral is prominently located above Cobh town centre and is visible from the harbour. Cobh is accessible by rail from Cork Kent Station (approx 25 minutes). Limited parking is available in Cobh town centre.
