Festi-Geal 2026 - Whitechurch Community Festival

Festi-Geal returns to Whitechurch, on the northern edge of Cork City, from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 August 2026. The week marks 40 years of the Whitechurch and Waterloo Community Association and is built around evening performances from Monday through Saturday, closing with a family-oriented event on the Sunday. The programme mixes theatre, live music and comedy with a strong local, community-run feel rather than big-name headline acts.

What to expect

Expect a run of evening shows through the working week, covering comedy sets, storytelling and drama productions alongside live music from local and touring bands. The festival closes out with a retro-themed family fun day on the Sunday, aimed at bringing residents of all ages together rather than just the evening crowd. Several of the week’s shows have already been reported as sold out or selling fast, which points to a well-supported local festival with a loyal following built up over four decades of the Community Association’s work.

Getting there

Whitechurch sits just north of Cork City, off the R617, a short drive from the city centre and easily reached from Blarney, Mallow Road and the northern suburbs. There is no rail or dedicated bus stop at the community centre itself, so a car is the most practical way to get there, with parking available around the centre grounds.
