Myra's Story - The Everyman Cork

At The Everyman · 15 MacCurtain Street, Cork, Co. Cork

Stage set for a solo play at The Everyman Cork

What to Expect

Myra’s Story plays The Everyman in Cork over two nights, Tuesday October 13 and Wednesday October 14, 2026, both at 8pm. The solo play is performed by Fionna Hewitt-Twamley and tells the story of Myra, a middle-aged homeless woman living with alcoholism who begs on Dublin’s streets near the Ha’penny Bridge. Through the character’s own voice, the play unfolds the moments and relationships that brought her to where she is, balancing humour with heartbreak rather than settling for either alone. Written by Brian Foster and presented by Trafalgar Theatre Productions, the show has been seen by more than 250,000 theatregoers across Ireland, the UK and North America since it first premiered in London’s West End and went on to win acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe. At an hour and a half plus an interval, it gives the performer room to build Myra as a full, specific person rather than a symbol, which is a large part of why the production has toured so widely for so long.
