Cork on a Fork Fest 2026

At Cork City Centre (multiple venues) · Grand Parade, Cork City, Co. Cork

Cork on a Fork Fest food festival across Cork City Centre

Cork on a Fork Fest is Cork City Council’s flagship annual food festival, running across five days each August and drawing crowds who come specifically to eat well, drink properly, and see what the city’s food scene can do. With more than 150 events spread across Cork City Centre - from the English Market to MacCurtain Street, Nano Nagle Place to Grand Parade - it is one of the biggest food-focused weeks in Ireland. If you care about what ends up on your plate, this is worth the trip.

What to expect

The programme mixes free street-level events with ticketed dining experiences that sell out months in advance. At the free end, cooking demonstrations on Grand Parade bring well-known chefs into the open air, and the SuperValu Family Zone in Bishop Lucey Park keeps younger visitors occupied. Guided food trails and meet-the-producer sessions run throughout the week.

The headline ticketed events are something else. The VQ Shared Table seats nearly 500 people along MacCurtain Street for a 20-chef collaboration dinner - new for 2026 is a full stretch marquee, so the weather is no longer a factor. The Market Table brings a zero-waste feast into the English Market, transforming the fountain area into a dining room with chef Orla McAndrew and FoodCloud. The Cathedral Supper at St Fin Barre’s Cathedral is a standing small-plate tasting menu from Michelin-starred chefs Lewis Barker and Paul McDonald, held inside the cathedral itself - black tie, €125. At Goldie Chapel in Nano Nagle Place, Michelin-starred Rob Krawczyk (Chestnut) and Bib Gourmand chef Aishling Moore (Goldie) collaborate with the Good Day Deli team for a one-off dinner. More than half of all festival events are free to attend.

Getting there

Cork City is well served by public transport. Bus Eireann and the city bus network connect to Parnell Place Bus Station, roughly 10 minutes’ walk from Grand Parade. Cork Kent Railway Station is about 15 minutes on foot from the city centre. By road, Cork is two and a half hours from Dublin via the M8, or just over an hour from Limerick on the N20. Parking in the city centre operates across a number of multi-storey car parks; Lavitts Quay and the Merchant’s Quay area are closest to the main festival footprint. During the street feast on MacCurtain Street, road closures apply - check Cork City Council traffic notices before driving in on that evening.

While you’re in Cork

Cork rewards a longer stay - the English Market alone is worth a morning, and the city’s restaurant and craft drink scene extends well beyond festival week. There is more to see in Cork and across Co. Cork.
