Every Friday in August, St Fin Barre’s Cathedral in Cork City hosts a lunchtime organ recital as part of its annual summer series. Recitals feature respected national and international organists performing on the cathedral’s impressive historic instrument. Each recital lasts approximately one hour. The cathedral, designed by William Burges and consecrated in 1870, is a striking Gothic Revival landmark and a wonderful acoustic space for organ music.
St Fin Barre’s Cathedral is located on Bishop Street in Cork City centre, a short walk from South Mall and Patrick Street. On-street parking is available on nearby streets.
