Three-day pilgrimage to Lough Derg (St Patrick’s Purgatory), one of the oldest centres of Christian pilgrimage in Western Europe. The pilgrimage programme involves prayer and quiet reflection in bare feet, keeping vigil and maintaining the fast as part of traditional pilgrimage practices.
Departure: Friday 26 July after 10:00am Mass from St Eugene’s Cathedral. Route: via Lifford and Ballybofey. Return: Sunday 28 July. Cost: GBP 80 with transport, GBP 70 without transport. Led by Bishop Donal McKeown. Pilgrims should be prepared for traditional fasting and barefoot walking practices.
