The final round of the 2026 Derry Senior Camogie Championship group stage is one of those evenings in the GAA calendar that carries real weight. With semi-final places on the line, clubs that have been building across the summer find out exactly where they stand. It is a good night to watch county camogie at close range - the skill level is high, the stakes are genuine, and admission is free.
Round 3 completes the group series that has been running on consecutive Friday evenings through late August and into September. Two groups of four senior clubs play their final fixtures simultaneously, meaning table positions can shift right up to the final whistle across the county.
Group A features Bellaghy, Ballinascreen, Kilrea and Slaughtneil - four clubs with long histories in Derry camogie, and Slaughtneil in particular have been one of the dominant forces in Ulster club camogie for years. Group B brings together Lavey, Swatragh, Glen and Newbridge. The top sides from each group go through to the knockout semi-finals, so every score matters.
Games are played at home club venues across Co. Derry rather than at a central ground. Check the Derry Camogie Facebook page and derrygaa.ie in the days before for confirmed venues and throw-in times - the standard start is 7pm but can vary by pitch.
Co. Derry is well served by road. Derry city itself sits on the A2/N13 corridor from Belfast and Donegal, with regular Bus Eireann and Translink Goldline services connecting it to Dublin and Belfast. Parking at GAA grounds is generally on-site or along adjacent roads; arrive a little before 7pm to get settled.
A Friday evening fixture is a fine excuse to spend time in the north-west. The city has a strong food and pub scene, the walled city walks are free, and the Bogside murals are a short stroll from the centre. There is more to see in Derry and across Co. Derry.
