Luka Bloom - Fiddler's Green Festival

At St Bronagh's Social Club · 5-7 Mary Street, Rostrevor, Co. Down

Luka Bloom performing

Luka Bloom is one of those performers who can fill a room with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and a story. The younger brother of Christy Moore, he has spent four decades building a catalogue of songs that sit between folk, rock and something harder to name - charged with feeling but stripped of fuss. Catching him at Fiddler’s Green Festival in the intimate setting of St Bronagh’s Social Club is the kind of evening that tends to stay with people. This is a proper sit-down concert, not a festival crowd shuffling past a stage.

What to expect

Luka Bloom performs as a solo acoustic act: big voice, percussive guitar, songs that range from tender to defiant. He released his 24th album on his 70th birthday in 2025, so there is no shortage of material to draw from.

St Bronagh’s Social Club is the home of the Festival Folk Club, the flagship indoor strand of Fiddler’s Green, where the headliners play each night. It is a community-scale room that suits the music - close enough that you can watch his hands on the guitar, quiet enough that the lyrics land.

The wider festival runs 14 to 19 July 2026. Alongside the indoor concerts there is a free open-air stage, pub sessions all week, a Duck Derby, nature walks up to the actual Fiddler’s Green on the mountainside, and a traditional music school running instrument workshops.

Getting there

Rostrevor sits on the western shore of Carlingford Lough in South Down, about 8 km from Newry. By road, take the A2 from Newry south through Warrenpoint into the village - around 15 minutes. From Dublin, allow roughly two hours via the M1 and A1. Translink buses connect Newry to Rostrevor during the day. Parking is limited during festival week, so arriving early or walking the 3 km from Warrenpoint along the lough shore is worth considering.

While you’re in Rostrevor

The village sits at the foot of the Mournes, with Kilbroney Park minutes from the square. The lough shore is peaceful and pub sessions spill out most evenings during the festival. There is more to see in Rostrevor and across Co. Down.
