Warrenpoint Town’s home matches in the NIFL Championship are played at Milltown, a tight, atmospheric ground right on the shore road into the town. The next fixture there is against Armagh City on Tuesday 11 August 2026, the opening home game of a season that already has one big date circled: the Boxing Day derby against neighbours Newry City, known locally as the Mourne Ultimatum.
Warrenpoint Town have punched above their weight since forming in 1987, winning promotion to the top flight of Irish League football within four seasons of playing competitive football and famously beating Glentoran 4-0 at the Oval in 2016. Milltown holds 1,450, with 150 seats, and its position right on the water gives it one of the more scenic settings in Northern Irish football. The 2026-27 Championship season runs 37 games across sixteen clubs before a mid-season split, and Warrenpoint’s home ties tend to draw a strong local crowd, especially for the derby fixtures against Newry City and Ards later in the year. Milltown is a short walk from Warrenpoint’s seafront and town centre, with the Newry to Warrenpoint road giving easy access by car. The Newry to Warrenpoint Greenway also runs close by for anyone arriving on foot or by bike from Newry.
