ADHD Ireland Parents Support Group - Lusk

At The Cottage Community Centre · 1 Church Road, Lusk

Parents sitting together at a support group meeting

What to Expect

ADHD Ireland runs an in-person peer support group for parents and guardians of children with ADHD at The Cottage Community Centre in Lusk. The session is facilitated by ADHD Ireland volunteers who are parents of children with ADHD themselves, and it gives attendees a confidential space to ask questions, share what has worked for their own families and swap practical tips. It runs for one hour and is explicitly framed as peer support rather than clinical or therapeutic advice, so the tone is conversational rather than a formal talk or lecture.

Groups like this matter for a coastal north Dublin community like Lusk, where families dealing with an ADHD diagnosis might otherwise have to travel into the city centre to find dedicated support. Having volunteers who have lived the same experience facilitate the session means the advice on offer is practical and grounded in real family life rather than purely clinical, and it gives parents a chance to build a local network of people going through similar challenges.
