Enniskillen parkrun

Every Saturday at 9:30am, runners, joggers and walkers gather at the Lakeland Forum on the Broadmeadow in Enniskillen for a free, timed 5km event beside Lough Erne. Enniskillen parkrun is part of the worldwide weekly parkrun series, and the offer is the same everywhere: register once, bring a barcode, walk or run 5km, get a result. There is no entry fee and no need to sign up on the day, Saturday, 8 August 2026, in the same slot as every week before and after it.

What to expect

The course is a two-lap out and back route using the paths and open ground around the Broadmeadow, starting behind the Lakeland Forum and heading toward Enniskillen Castle before doubling back through the picnic table area. It is flat and largely off-road, which makes it manageable for first-timers and fast enough for club athletes chasing a personal best. Every finisher is scanned with an individual barcode and a numbered finish token, and full results, including age-graded times, are published online within a few hours of the run. The event is entirely volunteer-run, from marshals along the route to the barcode scanners at the finish, and new volunteers are always wanted. Toilets are available inside the Lakeland Forum from 10am. First-time runners are encouraged to arrive around 9:15am for a short First Timers’ briefing on how the barcode and token system works.

Getting there

The Lakeland Forum sits on the Broadmeadow beside Lough Erne, a short walk from Enniskillen town centre, with car parking on site. Translink buses connect Enniskillen with Belfast, Omagh and Sligo, leaving a short walk from the bus station to the start line.

A Saturday morning run is an easy way to start a day around the county town, with the lakeshore, Enniskillen Castle and the town centre all within walking distance. There is more to see in Enniskillen and across Co. Fermanagh.
