Lisnaskea Livestock Sales, Weekly Cattle Sale

At Lisnaskea Livestock Sales · Main Street, Lisnaskea, Co. Fermanagh

Cattle in a livestock mart sales ring

Lisnaskea Livestock Sales holds its cattle sale every Tuesday at midday from its Main Street mart, one of only two livestock markets still trading in County Fermanagh alongside the larger Ulster Farmers Mart in Enniskillen. It is a sister operation to Clogher Livestock Mart just across the county boundary in Tyrone, sharing an auctioneering team and a customer base that spans south Fermanagh, north Cavan and north Monaghan. Farmers bring store bullocks, weanlings, breeding females, and cows with calves to the ring most weeks, making it a long-standing fixture of the farming calendar in this part of the county.

What to expect

Livestock is penned and weighed from mid morning, then sold through the ring lot by lot, with cattle making up the bulk of trade and sheep entered when in season. Farming Life’s weekly market reports track prices closely: a May 2026 sale saw cows and calves make up to £3,500 for a Shorthorn cow with a Limousin heifer calf, while weanling bulls made up to £940 for a 160kg Charolais. A steady seasonal entry sold well again on Tuesday 7 July 2026, continuing a pattern of firm demand through the summer months. Entry numbers tend to ease in high summer and pick up again from late summer into autumn as farmers clear stock ahead of winter housing. Visitors are welcome to watch from the ringside gallery even if not buying or selling, and it is a genuine slice of working rural Fermanagh rather than a staged attraction.

Getting there

Lisnaskea sits on the main A34, about 20km south of Enniskillen on the road toward Newtownbutler and the border with County Cavan. The mart is on Main Street in the town centre, within walking distance of Lisnaskea’s shops and pubs, with on-street parking nearby.

While you’re in Lisnaskea

Lisnaskea is one of south Fermanagh’s principal towns, its Main Street still carrying its market-town character, and a good base for exploring the quieter southern half of the county. There is more to see in Lisnaskea and across Co. Fermanagh.
