The Lady of the Lake Festival is Irvinestown’s biggest event of the year - a ten-day celebration rooted in local Fermanagh folklore that draws visitors from across the county and well beyond. Running from 10 to 19 July 2026, this year’s festival carries the theme “Lost Through Time,” weaving the mystery of the lakelands into a packed programme of music, parades, family events, and community craic. It suits families, anyone curious about local tradition, and people who simply want to be somewhere that feels genuinely alive.
The festival draws on the legend of the Lady of the Lake, a mythical figure said to drift through the morning mist of Lower Lough Erne, moving between the islands of Inishmacsaint, Inishdoney, and Inishclare, carrying wildflowers as a sign of good times ahead. That spirit of abundance runs right through the programme.
Among the signature events that return year after year: the Lady of the Lake 10K run, the much-loved Donkey Derby, and the spectacular Truck Convoy through the town - a firm crowd favourite. Add to that traditional music sessions, street entertainment, parades, children’s workshops, and evening performances spread across multiple venues in the town. The festival has been running for over four decades, and the community ownership shows: events are made for real people, not a passing tourist audience.
The full 2026 programme is released closer to the festival. Check the Fermanagh Lakelands tourism site for updates as the schedule firms up.
