At Fota Wildlife Park · Fota Island, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork
Fota Wildlife Park is one of Ireland’s most popular family attractions, set on Fota Island in Cork Harbour. The park is home to over 100 species of animals and birds in a free-roaming environment, meaning many animals walk freely among visitors. Highlights for families include cheetahs, giraffes, macaques, ring-tailed lemurs, and Amur leopards. There is a children’s playground with a giant giraffe slide, animal feeding times, and education programmes. For summer 2026, the 35-metre Panoramic Wheel returns as a special temporary attraction. Three educational weekends (Wild Science, Native Species, Bug Bonanza) also run in July and August.
Fota Wildlife Park is on Fota Island, about 15 km east of Cork City. Served directly by Irish Rail on the Cork to Cobh line. By car, take the N25 east and exit at Carrigtwohill.
