Gorey Market House Festival

At Gorey Town Centre · Main Street, Gorey, Co. Wexford

Gorey Market House Festival

Gorey’s biggest weekend of the year takes over Main Street across the August Bank Holiday, when the Market House Festival fills the town centre with three evenings of live outdoor music, street entertainment, and a family-friendly atmosphere - all completely free. Run by Wexford County Council and organised by a local committee, this is an established community celebration that draws people in from across North Wexford and beyond. If you want a proper summer night out without paying a cent at the door, this is a reliable one to put in the diary.

What to expect

Each of the three evenings brings a headline tribute act to the Main Street stage, supported by three or four additional performers. Friday kicks off with an Ed Sheeran tribute alongside Electrad and Jesse Sluds. Saturday sees EZ/DC - Ireland’s premier AC/DC tribute - take the headline slot, with the Paddy Doyle Band and Elysium also on the bill. Sunday closes the weekend with The Committed, a UK-based Commitments tribute playing soul and R&B classics from the film, joined by Rude Boy Revolution, KJ McEvoy, Squire, Black Bells, and The Animal Gang.

Beyond the music, Saturday includes a Family Fun Day in Gorey Town Park, and Sunday has street markets with food vendors and stalls running alongside the entertainment. New for 2026 is a Battle of the Bands competition at Gorey Little Theatre, where regional acts compete for a spot on the Main Street stage. Food and drink are available throughout the weekend from traders at the venue.

Getting there

Gorey sits on the N11 in northeast Wexford, roughly equidistant between Wexford town and Wicklow town. By car it is about an hour from Dublin or 40 minutes from Wexford. Irish Rail serves Gorey station on the Dublin Connolly - Rosslare Europort line, with regular services from Dublin Connolly taking around 80 minutes - a sensible option given the late-night finish on all three evenings. Town centre parking is available on and around Main Street; arrive early on festival evenings as spaces fill quickly.

While you’re in Gorey

Gorey is a solid base for exploring the northeast corner of Wexford - the coast at Courtown is only a short drive away, and the town itself has good cafes and independent shops worth a wander before the evening programme starts. There is more to see in Gorey and across Co. Wexford.
