Ladies Gaelic football match in County Leitrim

Five clubs line out in the 2026 Leitrim Intermediate Ladies Football Championship, the second tier of the county’s ladies football season. The opening round is Sunday, 16 August 2026, when Kiltubrid play Naomh Padraig Dromahair and Annaduff take on Mohill. Fenagh complete the group, and each side plays the other four once through September before the championship moves to a semi-final and final in early October.

What to expect

Round 1 throws in at 11am on 16 August with two games, Kiltubrid against Naomh Padraig Dromahair and Annaduff against Mohill, and Fenagh enter the following week against Naomh Padraig Dromahair. The group runs through five rounds to Sunday, 20 September, when Fenagh play Kiltubrid and Mohill play Naomh Padraig Dromahair to close out the table. Semi-finals follow on Sunday, 27 September, with the final fixed for Saturday, 10 October, pairings to be confirmed once the group positions are settled. As with the senior grade, matches are played at host clubs’ own grounds around the county rather than one fixed venue. Expect a tighter, keenly fought grade, with clubs like Mohill drawing on strong underage structures and the smaller rural clubs, Kiltubrid and Fenagh among them, playing for a shot at senior status.

Getting there

Games are hosted at club grounds across Leitrim, including Mohill, Fenagh, Drumkeeran and the Dromahair area, so the venue changes from week to week. Most are within a short drive of the N4 corridor through Carrick-on-Shannon or the R201 and R202 roads through south Leitrim; confirm the host club’s ground before setting out.

While you’re in Fenagh

Fenagh is a small south Leitrim village built around the remains of a monastery associated with Saint Caillín, one of the more significant early Christian sites in the county. There is more to see in Fenagh and across Co. Leitrim.
