Leitrim Senior Ladies Football Championship 2026

Six clubs contest the 2026 Leitrim Senior Ladies Football Championship, the top grade of the county’s ladies football season. It opens on Sunday, 16 August 2026 with St Marys/Kiltoghert hosting Drumkeeran, and St Francis, Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s, Glencar Manorhamilton and St Josephs make up the rest of the group. Each side plays the other five once across five rounds of league football before the campaign moves into knockout stages in October, with the winners going forward to represent Leitrim in the Connacht club championship.

What to expect

Games are fixed for 11am each Sunday from 16 August through to 27 September, with all six clubs playing one another once in the group phase: St Marys/Kiltoghert face St Josephs and Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s in successive weeks, Glencar Manorhamilton meet Drumkeeran early in the campaign, and St Francis close out their group games against St Josephs on 27 September. Once the group phase settles, semi-finals are fixed for Sunday, 4 October, a relegation final for Sunday, 11 October, and the county final for Saturday, 17 October, though pairings and the final’s venue are still to be confirmed as of the group draw. Matches rotate around host clubs’ own grounds rather than a single fixed venue, so it is worth checking the fixture list close to each round. Expect competitive, well-attended club football, with senior panels built on a mix of established county players and emerging club talent.

Getting there

Fixtures are played at club grounds across the county, from Carrick-on-Shannon and Drumkeeran to Ballinamore and Manorhamilton, so the venue changes round to round. Most grounds are reachable from the N4 Dublin to Sligo road, which runs through Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim’s county town; check the specific host club’s ground before travelling.
