Longitude Festival 2026

At Marlay Park · Grange Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16

Longitude Festival at Marlay Park Dublin

Longitude is Dublin’s flagship summer music festival, drawing up to 40,000 people a day to Marlay Park over the first weekend of July. It pitches itself squarely at fans of hip-hop, pop, electronic and alternative music, and the scale of the operation - multiple stages, tens of thousands of fellow attendees, and a setting that somehow still feels like a park - makes it unlike anything else on the Irish festival calendar. If you want to see major international names in a single afternoon and not pay Glastonbury prices or sleep in a field, Longitude is the answer.

What to expect

Since its debut in 2013, Longitude has grown from a 9,500-capacity newcomer into one of Europe’s bigger city-based festivals. The format is a three-day weekend affair with headliners typically announced in the months leading up to the event - past editions have brought Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator and Stormzy to Marlay Park. The main stage draws the biggest crowds but the secondary stages often deliver the most talked-about moments, with emerging Irish and international acts playing to audiences that are actually listening.

The site is standing only throughout, so comfortable footwear matters more than you might think. Irish summer weather being what it is, layers and a light waterproof are sensible regardless of the forecast. Bags must be A4 size or smaller, and umbrellas are not permitted on site. Sealed water bottles are fine to bring in. No re-entry is allowed once you leave.

Food and drink vendors are spread across the site - expect the full range of festival food stalls alongside the usual sponsors’ bars. The atmosphere inside the grounds is typically relaxed and well-managed for its size.

Getting there

Marlay Park sits on Grange Road in Rathfarnham, about nine kilometres south of Dublin city centre. Driving and parking on Grange Road itself is restricted during events - College Road is used for pre-booked parking and official event transport. The designated pick-up area after the festival is Nutgrove Shopping Centre, not the park gates, so anyone meeting a lift should plan accordingly.

The most straightforward way in from the city is the Dublin Bus service - shuttle routes to Marlay Park run from the city centre during major events, and booking in advance through the Evntz app is the smart move. Luas and bus connections to nearby suburbs such as Rathfarnham village are also options for those willing to walk the last stretch. Allow extra time on the way in and especially out: 40,000 people leaving at once tests any public transport system.

While you’re in Rathfarnham

Rathfarnham has a good bit going for it beyond the festival. Rathfarnham Castle is a short walk away and worth a look if you arrive early. There is more to see in Rathfarnham and across Co. Dublin.
