John Colleary brings his latest stand-up tour, Mighty Quack, to Ballina Arts Centre on Friday 27 November 2026 at 8pm. Colleary has built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most sought-after comics, having toured as support to Tommy Tiernan before landing a run of successful solo shows, including Loud And Colleary in 2023, Head Like A Shed in 2024 and Wildlife in 2025, and Mighty Quack is the follow-up to that run. Beyond stand-up he’s known as a sharp mimic and sketch performer, and has writing and acting credits on IFTA-nominated television and various RTE productions. Tiernan himself has called Colleary “playful, inventive and brilliant,” which gives a sense of the loose, character-driven style the show leans on, drawing on impressions and sketch instincts as much as straight one-liners. Coming a week ahead of Tiernan’s own Mayo tour date at TF Royal, it rounds off a strong month of stand-up in the county for anyone chasing more than one show. The show runs for around 120 minutes.
Ballina Arts Centre is on Barrett Street in the centre of Ballina, within easy reach of on-street parking and the town’s pubs and restaurants. Ballina sits on the N26 and N59, around an hour from both Castlebar and Sligo, with Bus Eireann services connecting the town to the rest of the county.
Ballina’s compact centre makes it easy to combine the show with dinner nearby, and the River Moy is a short walk from the venue for a pre-show stroll.
