Life in the Spirit Seminar - St Patrick's Church, Ballyhaunis

At St Patrick's Church · Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo

St Patrick's Church, Ballyhaunis

What to Expect

St Patrick’s Church in Ballyhaunis is running a “Life in the Spirit” seminar over seven evenings between 2 August and 13 September 2026, designed to help parishioners deepen their Christian faith and experience the Holy Spirit. Each session runs from 7pm to 9pm and features a different guest speaker, with the format aimed at both newcomers and long-standing parishioners looking to refresh their faith. The series began on Sunday 2 August and continues on Sundays 9, 16 and 23 August, on Friday 28 August, and on Sundays 6 and 13 September, giving anyone who misses an early date several further chances to join. It sits alongside the parish’s other August events, including the National Novena at nearby Knock Shrine, as part of a busy summer of faith activity in the town.

“Life in the Spirit” seminars are a well-established format within the Catholic charismatic renewal movement, typically combining short talks, group prayer and personal testimony over a series of weekly gatherings, and are often run in parishes as a structured way to introduce people to more active, participatory forms of prayer. The Ballyhaunis series is coordinated by parishioner Angela Staunton, who handles enquiries and registration directly rather than through the parish office, and each week’s guest speaker brings a different focus to the gathering.
