At Croke Park · Jones's Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 3
The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-finals are two of the biggest days in the GAA calendar - the four teams left standing after a summer of provincial and qualifier football arrive at Croke Park with an All-Ireland final place on the line. For supporters from Meath and across the county, these are the games that define a season, and a ticket is well worth the effort regardless of which counties are involved.
The two semi-finals take place across the weekend of 11-12 July 2026 at Croke Park. Each game is 70 minutes of senior intercounty football at the highest level, with extra time if the sides are level at the final whistle. Croke Park holds over 82,000 people and fills close to that for the semis - the noise when a goal goes in or a tight free is converted is unlike anything else in Irish sport. Gates typically open around two hours before throw-in, giving you time to find your seat, grab food from the concourse and soak up the atmosphere as the stadium fills. Wear your county colours or come as a neutral and enjoy the occasion. Tickets sell through Ticketmaster and gaa.ie, and for semi-finals they move fast - check early and set up an account before they go on sale.
Croke Park is in Drumcondra, Dublin 3, about a five-minute drive from O’Connell Street. From Co. Meath, the M3 motorway connects Navan to the M50 and into Dublin - around 50-60 minutes outside peak traffic. Match-day parking near the stadium is very limited, with residents-only restrictions filling the surrounding streets early. Park in the city centre or on the outskirts and take public transport in. Dublin Bus routes 3, 11, 16 and 123 all serve the stadium. The DART to Connolly Station leaves a manageable walk north through Drumcondra.
Meath is strong GAA country and the build-up to a big Croke Park weekend brings a buzz to towns across the county. There is more to see in Navan and across Co. Meath.
