Meath County Development Plan 2027-2033 - Public Display

What to Expect

Meath County Council places the draft Meath County Development Plan 2027-2033 on public display from 2 September to 11 November 2026, giving residents, businesses and community groups an extended ten-week window to view the plan in full and make a formal written submission before it is finalised by the elected council. The Development Plan is the statutory document that sets out the county’s land use, housing, environmental and infrastructure policy for the six years ahead, covering everything from where new housing and employment land can be zoned to protections for heritage sites and green space. This draft follows an earlier Pre-Draft Strategic Issues consultation, for which the council’s planning department prepared a Chief Executive’s Report summarising the issues raised by the public and elected members before drafting began. Copies of the draft plan and its accompanying maps and environmental reports are placed on physical display at Buvinda House, the council’s Navan headquarters, and at each of the county’s Municipal District Offices, and the full document is also published on the council’s dedicated online consultation portal for anyone who prefers to review it from home.

• Free to view; written submissions on the draft plan can be made through the online portal for the duration of the display period.
