What to Expect

The 2026 Meath Intermediate Football Championship, the 100th edition of the competition, runs through August and September with 16 clubs split into four groups of four. Round 1 throws in on Sunday 9 August: Longwood face Bective at Boardsmill (12:00) and St Patrick’s meet Navan O’Mahonys at Walterstown (14:00) in Group A; St Michael’s play Walterstown at Kilmainham (14:00) and Drumbaragh Emmets face Clann na nGael at Martry (14:00) in Group B; Blackhall Gaels take on Dunsany at Summerhill (12:00) and Meath Hill meet Moynalvey at Simonstown (18:00) in Group C; and Duleek/Bellewstown play Ballivor at Bective (16:00) while Oldcastle host Castletown at Kells (16:00) in Group D. The top two finishers in each group advance to the knockout stages.

• Round 1: Sunday 9 August 2026, group fixtures at grounds around the county as listed above.
• Round 2: 20 to 23 August 2026, including Navan O’Mahonys v Longwood and Bective v St Patrick’s on 23 August.
• Round 3: 3 to 5 September 2026, completing the group stage.
• Quarter-finals: 19 to 20 September 2026, matchups confirmed once groups finish.
• Semi-finals: 3 to 4 October 2026.
• Final: Saturday 17 October 2026, traditionally staged at Pairc Tailteann, Navan.
• A relegation play-off runs in parallel, with semi-finals on 19 to 20 September and a relegation final on 3 to 4 October.
• Admission is charged at the gate for adult club championship fixtures; exact pricing is set match by match and not published in advance.
• Fixtures, venues and throw-in times are subject to change and confirmed weekly on the Meath GAA fixtures page.

Getting There

Round 1 venues are spread across the county, from Boardsmill and Summerhill in the south to Kells and Martry in the north, so check the specific ground for your group before travelling. Later rounds, including the semi-finals and final, are expected to be played at Pairc Tailteann, Navan, which has parking and is close to the town centre.
