Where Angels Listen world premiere film and arts event at Hinterland Festival Kells

What to Expect

This is the world premiere of “Where Angels Listen”, two short films produced as a creative response to the life and work of Slane poet Francis Ledwidge by some of Ireland’s foremost contemporary artists. The event is curated by playwright Deirdre Kinahan and features musicians Oisin Leech (The Lost Brothers), Steve Wickham (The Waterboys) and Perlee, spoken word artist Lewis Kenny, and actor Kwaku Fortune. Joining live on the night for music, discussion and readings are writers Dermot Bolger and Deirdre Kinahan, Meath County Arts Officer Gerardette Bailey, and musicians Steve Wickham and Perlee. Dermot Bolger will read a new work commissioned specifically for the occasion. The event is supported by Meath County Council Arts Office.

Getting There

Kells is approximately 55 km north-west of Dublin. Bus Eireann operates services from Dublin to Kells. The Courthouse venue is centrally located in Kells town.
