At Mullagh Community Sports Field · Mullagh, Co. Clare, V95 V32V
The Mullagh Show and Family Day is a community-run event on Sunday 16 August 2026 at the Mullagh Community Sports Field, now in its 31st year. It combines a traditional agricultural show, showcasing the best of West Clare farming and food, with a family fun day built around the sports field’s facilities, including an autism-friendly playground on site. The show side draws entries from local farmers and growers in the West Clare tradition of small community shows, while the family day programme is aimed squarely at children, with a full card of sporting and fun activities run by volunteers through the afternoon. All children’s activities are free of charge, a deliberate choice by the organising committee to keep the day accessible to every family in the parish regardless of budget. Mullagh is a small village on the Wild Atlantic Way in West Clare, and the show is run entirely by community volunteers rather than a paid events company, in keeping with the parish-show tradition found across rural Clare. The event has become a fixture of the West Clare summer calendar, sitting in the same August window as the county’s other agricultural shows, including Kildysart and the Ennis breeding sheep show, and giving families in the area a full weekend of things to do without having to travel far. Mullagh lies on the coast road between Quilty and Kilmurry Ibrickane, an area better known for surf beaches than show fields, which makes the August date a useful anchor point in the local calendar.
Mullagh is on the Wild Atlantic Way in West Clare, easily reached from Quilty and Kilmurry Ibrickane. The Community Sports Field is signposted in the village on the day.
