At Ardboyne Hotel · Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath
The Navan Antiques and Vintage Fair brings dealers from across Ireland and the UK into the Ardboyne Hotel on the Dublin Road, filling the venue’s generous event spaces with thousands of items spanning several centuries of making, collecting and hoarding. It runs on a Sunday afternoon, which makes it an easy half-day out rather than a commitment - arrive at noon, take your time, and still be home for tea. This is the fair for people who enjoy the hunt as much as the find: you might turn up a piece of Art Deco jewellery, a stack of first editions, a piece of Georgian silver, or a coat rack that turns out to be exactly right. Browsers are as welcome as buyers.
The Ardboyne Hotel’s event space fills with an eclectic mix of traders dealing in antique and vintage furniture, fine art, vintage books, rare coins, jewellery, silverware, ceramics and household goods - alongside clothing, accessories and the sort of oddities and curios that resist easy categorisation. Vintage Ireland, the organiser, runs fairs at hotels across Ireland and tends to attract dealers with genuinely varied stock rather than a single specialism. Expect to spend an hour or two working through the stalls; the pace is unhurried and the bar and restaurant are open if you want to stop for lunch. The hotel also runs a carvery and all-day bar food on Sundays, so there is no need to rush out hungry.
Admission is €3.50 at the door. Under-15s get in free when accompanied by an adult. A discounted rate of €2.50 is available via the Vintage Ireland Android app or through vouchers posted on the Facebook event page in fair week - worth downloading or checking if you plan to go.
The Ardboyne Hotel sits on the N3/Dublin Road on the southern approach to Navan, roughly 40 minutes from Dublin city via the M3. By car, follow the N3 north from the motorway and the hotel is on your right before you reach the town centre. There is free on-site car parking with plenty of space. Bus Eireann runs services between Dublin Busaras and Navan (route 109 and related express services); the journey takes around an hour and drops you in Navan town centre, from where the hotel is a 15-minute walk or a short taxi.
Navan is the county town of Meath and sits at the confluence of the Boyne and Blackwater rivers, with a compact town centre worth a walk before or after the fair. The surrounding area includes some of Ireland’s most significant archaeological sites - the Boyne Valley is a short drive away. There is more to see in Navan and across Co. Meath.
