At Navan Centre and Fort · 81 Killylea Road, Armagh, Co. Armagh, BT60 4LD
Navan Centre and Fort hosts an annual Summer Solstice Sunset event on or around 20 June, gathering visitors on the ancient hilltop of Emain Macha - the legendary capital of Ulster - to mark the turning of the seasons. The evening is guided by Carolyn Cairns, one of Navan’s experienced tour guides, who brings knowledge of the site’s mythology, archaeology, and Celtic traditions.
The event blends an appreciation of the landscape and the long midsummer evening with storytelling about the site’s Iron Age significance. It is suitable for older children and families who enjoy history and the outdoors.
