At Banagher GAA Club · Banagher, Co. Offaly
Kellogg’s GAA Cul Camps return to Offaly this summer, bringing a week of football and hurling coaching to primary school-age children at a different set of clubs every week from 20 July to 24 August 2026. Run by Offaly GAA in conjunction with the national Cul Camps programme, the camps put qualified coaches in front of children for five days of games-based skills sessions, and are one of the county’s biggest summer sport programmes for GAA families.
Each week of camp runs Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm, with a different group of clubs hosting. Week one, from 20 July, is based at Gracefield, Banagher, Kilcormac and Shamrocks; week two, from 27 July, moves to Edenderry, Ballinagar, Birr and Doon; week three, from 3 August, runs at Tubber, Rath, Ferbane and CRC Gaels; week four, from 10 August, is hosted by Ballinamere, Tullamore, Kinnitty and Seir Kieran; week five, from 17 August, takes in Clara, Daingean, Coolderry and Killeigh; and the summer closes with week six, from 24 August, at Shinrone, Rhode and Cappincur. Children take part in non-competitive football and hurling coaching in small groups, working on core skills through games rather than repetitive drills, and every child who takes part gets a Cul Camp kit as part of registration. Booking is online only, and Offaly GAA has said it cannot cater for any child who has not been booked in advance.
Banagher sits on the River Shannon and is a good base for a stop before or after camp, with riverside walks and the town’s outdoor swimming pool both close to the GAA grounds. There is more to see in Banagher and across Co. Offaly.
