Rónán Ó Snodaigh and Myles O’Reilly play Garter Lane on Saturday, 10 October 2026. Ó Snodaigh is best known as the singer and bodhrán player at the centre of Kíla, one of Ireland’s longest-running traditional and world music bands; O’Reilly is a musician and filmmaker who has built a name documenting Irish musicians through his Arán agus Im film series before becoming a touring collaborator in his own right. Doors are at 8pm, tickets €20 plus fee.

What to expect

Away from Kíla’s full-band sound, Ó Snodaigh’s solo and duo work is quieter and more exposed, built around voice, bodhrán and guitar rather than a full band arrangement, with lyrics moving between English and Irish. O’Reilly brings his own guitar and production sensibility to the pairing, and the two have developed a touring live show together that sits closer to a folk and spoken-word evening than a trad session. Garter Lane’s smaller theatre space suits that quieter format, with the audience seated close to the stage rather than standing at the back of a pub. Expect a set that draws on both performers’ back catalogues rather than a strict genre show.

Garter Lane is on O’Connell Street in Waterford city centre, close to Theatre Royal and a short walk from the quays. The venue sits on the city’s central bus routes, with public parking available nearby on O’Connell Street and at the Apple Market.
