What to Expect

Sanatorium is set on the shores of Odesa in southern Ukraine, at the crumbling Soviet-era Kuyalnik Sanatorium. Over a summer season, the ever-dwindling guests come for the rejuvenating mud treatments and strange electroshock therapies, in search of love, healing and happiness. The film is Ireland’s Official Entry for the 2026 Academy Awards in the International Feature Film category, and has drawn strong critical praise.
