What to Expect

The Shannon Archaeological and Historical Society hosts monthly public lectures at Wolfe Tones GAA Club in Shannon. The talks cover local and national history, archaeology and heritage topics and are delivered by leading historians, archaeologists and researchers. In 2026 the society is celebrating its 50th year with a particularly rich programme. Lectures are open to members and the general public. The society also publishes its annual journal “The Other Clare”.
