What to Expect

Fun and Games Camp is Shannon Leisure Centre’s general activity camp, running for its third and final week of the summer from 17 to 21 August. Where Girl Power Camp leans into dance and styling, this camp is built for “non-stop action,” mixing swimming, climbing, basketball and inflatable obstacle courses across the week. It draws on the same base as the centre’s other camps: staff who are fully qualified, professionally trained and Garda vetted, and more than 25 years of running children’s summer programmes in Shannon. Being based inside a full leisure centre rather than a hall or a field means children get proper pool time as part of the programme, not just as an occasional treat, which is a real point of difference from camps that only offer land-based games. The week runs the same hours as the centre’s other camps, 9:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, and the same week also has intensive swimming lessons running in the evening for children who want extra pool time on top of the day camp.

Getting There

Shannon Leisure Centre is on Bothar Linne in Tullyglass, on the edge of Shannon town, around 20 minutes from Ennis and close to Shannon Airport. Parking is available on site. Bus Éireann connects Shannon to Ennis and Limerick, but the leisure centre sits just outside the town centre, so arriving by car is the more practical option for a camp drop-off and pick-up routine.
