What to Expect

Girl Power Camp is one of Shannon Leisure Centre’s summer camp programmes, running for a second week this August after an earlier July session. It is built around fashion, fun and adventure, with daily activities that include makeup and hair styling sessions and hip hop dance, alongside the centre’s usual mix of games and group activities. The stated focus is confidence, friendship and fun rather than competition, and the camp draws on Shannon Leisure Centre’s 25-plus years of running children’s programmes, with staff who are fully qualified, professionally trained and Garda vetted. Because the camp is based at a leisure centre rather than a standalone hall, children also have access to the venue’s wider facilities during the week, which gives the days more variety than a single-activity camp. The week runs Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 2:30pm, giving a full school-day length session that works for parents who need proper coverage rather than a two-hour morning slot.

Getting There

Shannon Leisure Centre is on Bothar Linne in Tullyglass, on the edge of Shannon town, about 20 minutes from Ennis and close to Shannon Airport. There is parking on site. Shannon is served by Bus Éireann routes connecting it to Ennis and Limerick, though the leisure centre itself is best reached by car given its location just outside the town centre.
