At The Model · The Mall, Sligo, F91 TP20
The Model in Sligo devotes gallery space this summer to a contemporary exhibition by artist Phil Collins, running from 20 June to 22 August 2026. The show forms part of the gallery’s rotating contemporary programme, which runs alongside its long-established Jack B. Yeats displays, and gives visitors in Sligo town access to current visual art without a trip to Dublin or Galway. Admission is free, in keeping with The Model’s policy across all of its galleries.
The exhibition occupies gallery space at The Model alongside the venue’s other summer 2026 shows, forming part of a programme that mixes historic Sligo-connected work with contemporary practice. The Model has built a reputation well beyond the county for backing serious contemporary art programming, drawing on the Niland Collection it holds in trust and on loan exhibitions from working artists. Visitors should check the gallery’s own listings closer to their visit for current wall texts and any related talks or events, as programming detail can be added through the run. The galleries are wheelchair accessible and staffed by gallery attendants who can answer questions about the work on display.
The Model is on The Mall in Sligo town centre, a short walk from the bus and rail station and from the rest of the town’s shops and restaurants. On-street and nearby public parking are available for visitors arriving by car.
The gallery is an easy stop to combine with the rest of Sligo town, from the Garavogue riverside walk to the shops on O’Connell Street. There is more to see across Co. Sligo, from the coast at Strandhill to Yeats’s grave at Drumcliff.
