A car boot sale run out of a proper community centre feels different from a windswept car park on the edge of town - and the monthly sale at The Avalon Centre in Sligo delivers exactly that. Held indoors in the Sports Hall, it brings together sellers from around Sligo town and beyond, with buyers browsing at a comfortable pace out of the weather. It suits anyone who enjoys rummaging through pre-loved things without a fixed agenda: a good Sunday afternoon for couples, families, and casual bargain hunters.
The Avalon Centre Sports Hall fills with stalls selling the usual mix you would hope for at a good car boot - household items, clothing, books, toys, tools, collectibles, and the occasional oddity worth picking up. Entry is free for visitors, so there is no pressure to spend and no admission cost to weigh up before you go in. The sale runs 1pm to 4pm - an easy afternoon fit rather than an early start.
