The Belfry Bar on Thomas Street puts on a live DJ every Saturday night, one of the fixed weekly features at what is one of Sligo town’s largest bars. Spread across four bars and three levels overlooking the Garavogue River, the Belfry mixes a food-led early evening with a DJ-driven late night, and Saturday is the night it leans hardest into that second half. There is no separate ticket, entry is through the bar as normal.
The venue runs entertainment from Friday through Sunday more broadly, covering indie bands, DJs and cover acts, but the Saturday DJ night is the most consistently advertised of the three, confirmed on the bar’s own website and repeated on local sponsor listings. A team of mixologists works the cocktail bar through the night alongside the DJ, and the building’s two outdoor heated patios stay open, giving people somewhere to step outside without leaving the venue. The Belfry is part of the Embassy Complex in the Abbeyquarter area, just across the river from Sligo’s main shopping streets, and its size and multiple bars mean it can hold a bigger crowd than most of the town’s smaller pubs, with a table quiz also running midweek in the same venue.
The Belfry is on Thomas Street in the Abbeyquarter North area, a short walk from Sligo town centre across the Garavogue River. Taxis are the most practical way home late at night, since bus services stop running well before closing time.
