What to Expect

Summer Stars is the free national summer reading programme for children, running in all Clare Libraries branches from 2 June to 31 August 2026. Children sign up at their nearest library branch, receive an activity book and wildflower bookmark, and track their reading across the summer - books, audiobooks, graphic novels, or picture books all count. As well as reading, Clare Libraries host free events and activities throughout the summer including storytime sessions, creative writing, Irish language, comic book making, chess, mindfulness, nature talks, and craft sessions.

Good to Know

• Free to join at any of Clare’s 15 library branches.
• Programme runs from 2 June to 31 August 2026.
• Storytime at Ennis Library takes place on Tuesdays at 3:30pm (no booking required, suitable for ages 3-6).
• Shannon Library also offers storytime sessions.
• eBooks and eAudio Books available via the BorrowBox library app.
