TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football semi-final

The TG4 All-Ireland Senior Ladies Football Championship semi-finals on Saturday 18 July are one of the genuine highlights of the Irish sporting summer. Cork fans will be watching closely: the Rebels face Dublin in the quarter-finals (5-6 July), with the winner going straight into a last-four meeting against the other side of the draw. Two games, one afternoon, both live on TG4.

What to expect

Ladies Gaelic football at All-Ireland semi-final level is fast, physical, and genuinely competitive. The championship has grown enormously in profile since TG4 first came on board as title sponsor - the broadcaster recently confirmed a five-year extension of that partnership. The 2026 semi-finals run as a double-header with the first throw-in at 3:15pm, both games live on TG4. Whoever Cork meet in the last four will arrive having won a quarter-final the weekend before, so the tempo is high from the start. The LGFA typically selects a central neutral venue for the semi-finals - in recent years a large provincial ground rather than Croke Park, which is reserved for the All-Ireland final on Sunday 2 August. The 2026 venue will be confirmed after the quarter-finals play out.

Getting there

The venue will be confirmed by the LGFA after the quarter-finals (5-6 July), so check ladiesgaelic.ie before making travel plans. If the semi-final is assigned to a Munster ground, Cork City is straightforward to reach - Cork Kent Station has regular Intercity trains from Dublin Heuston and Limerick, and the M8 motorway links the city to Dublin and Tipperary. For city-centre parking, Lavitt’s Quay and Merchants Quay multi-storeys are the usual options; on a big match day it is often easier to park on the outskirts and get a taxi or bus in.

While you’re in Cork

Cork is a proper city with real character - the English Market, the River Lee, and a food scene that locals are quietly proud of. Patrick Street and the surrounding lanes are worth a walk before or after the game. There is more to see in Cork and across Co. Cork.
