Up the Déise! runs at Theatre Royal Waterford from Wednesday, 21 October to Saturday, 24 October 2026, at 7:30pm each night. Produced by Scene and Heard Productions, it is an original community comedy following a group of devoted Waterford GAA supporters on the road following the team they love, using sport as the backdrop for a story about friendship and belonging rather than a straight retelling of any particular match or season.
The show is described by the venue as combining humour with real emotional depth, less a string of jokes than a warm, funny look at what it means to follow a county team through the ordinary highs and lows of a season, win or lose. Scene and Heard Productions builds its shows around performers of varying abilities, and Up the Déise! is billed as a joyful, uplifting celebration of community and inclusion as much as a comedy in the traditional stand-up sense, so expect a bigger, more ensemble-driven show than a solo comic on a stool. One performance during the run will have a sign language interpreter on stage, with the exact date to be confirmed directly through the box office for anyone who needs it.
