Voodoo Rooms Games Night - Summer Social Cork

At Voodoo Rooms · 74 Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork City, Co. Cork

Games Night themed party at Voodoo Rooms Cork

A games night with drinks and live music thrown in sounds straightforward enough, but the setting lifts it above the usual. Voodoo Rooms on Oliver Plunkett Street is one of Cork’s best-known late-night venues, and the Summer Socials series has been a fixture of its August calendar. This particular evening suits groups looking for something more structured than a regular night out - think workmates, birthday crowds, or a cluster of friends who want a shared focus to the evening rather than just a dance floor. With the ticket covering food, drinks and entertainment before the nightclub opens properly, you’re not spending the night nursing expensive rounds.

What to expect

The Games Night is the third and final event in Voodoo Rooms’ 2026 Summer Socials series, following a Race Night in June and a Casino Night in July. The format follows the same shape as the earlier evenings: doors from 7pm, interactive games entertainment, complimentary party food and drinks, and live music through to 11pm, at which point it flows into full nightclub mode.

The venue runs across three floors with four bars. The rooftop on the third floor is the biggest in Cork and, after a refurb ahead of a previous summer season, it makes a decent spot for an early part of the evening. The main dance floor and VIP booths are on the second floor, and there’s a retro-styled bar on the first. For a group event, having that many options across the building means you’re not all bunched in one spot.

The €25 ticket includes the entertainment and the complimentary food and drink in the early part of the evening, so it represents decent value for a Monday out. Group bookings can be arranged directly with the venue.

Getting there

Voodoo Rooms is on Oliver Plunkett Street, one of the main commercial streets in Cork City centre. It’s a few minutes’ walk from Patrick Street and the Grand Parade area. If you’re coming from outside the city, Cork Kent railway station is about 15 minutes on foot, or a short taxi ride. The Cork bus station on Parnell Place is closer still. For those driving, the city-centre multi-storey car parks on Lavitt’s Quay, Merchants Quay or the South Mall are the standard options - street parking in the centre is limited on a weekday evening.

While you’re in Cork

Cork City rewards a wander before an evening event. The English Market is a short walk away and worth a look if you arrive early, and the quays along the River Lee have a good few spots to eat. There is more to see in Cork and across Co. Cork.
