Mullingar Junior Stage School brings Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr to Mullingar Arts Centre for three performances on Wednesday 26, Thursday 27 and Saturday 29 August 2026, each starting at 7pm. The production is a junior theatrical version of the well-known story, staged by the school’s young performers as their summer show, with musical numbers drawn from both the stage and the 2010 film versions of Alice in Wonderland.
Mullingar Junior Stage School’s younger performers take on the story of a girl who follows a white rabbit down a hole into a topsy turvy world. The show keeps the familiar characters, the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts, and blends musical numbers with material that gives the school’s youngest members a chance to sing, dance and act in front of a full house. It is a youth theatre production, so the cast are the school’s own young members rather than professional actors, and the run is spread over three nights rather than a single performance, with shows on the Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday of the same week. Family and friends of the cast make up much of the audience, but the show is open to anyone with a ticket.
Mullingar Arts Centre is on Lower Mount Street in Mullingar town centre, close to the county library and a short walk from the Market Square. Public car parks serve the town centre within a few minutes’ walk of the venue.
