Kilbeggan Distillery, dating back to 1757 and among the oldest working distilleries in Ireland, runs guided visitor experiences daily from its visitor centre on the River Brosna. The main Distillery Experience is a 90 minute, fully immersive tour that ends with a four whiskey masterclass, walking visitors through the site’s history alongside the modern production process still carried out on the same ground.
Beyond the standard Distillery Experience, Kilbeggan offers two shorter options: a 30 minute Distillers Cask Bottling session where visitors fill their own bottle straight from the cask, and a 60 minute Irish Coffee Masterclass restricted to over 18s. All three are multilingual guided experiences rather than self-guided walks, run by staff based on site. The visitor centre, bar and shop are open daily, 10am to 5:30pm from 17 March to 31 October and 10am to 3:30pm for the rest of the year, so the distillery is accessible well outside the main tourist season. The site sits on the Dublin to Galway route just east of Kilbeggan town, making it a natural stop for anyone travelling the M6, and the distillery notes that private tours and private whiskey tastings can be arranged directly for groups. Pricing for each experience is not published online and is best confirmed by phone or email before visiting.
Kilbeggan Distillery is on Lower Main Street in Aghamore, just east of Kilbeggan town centre, close to Junction 5 of the M6 motorway on the Dublin to Galway route. On-site parking is available for visitors.
