Westmeath Minor Football Championship

The Westmeath Minor Football Championship is the county’s underage 17-and-under grade, split into four divisions and played on club grounds right across Westmeath through the summer. Round 4 and round 5 fixtures fall across Friday 7 and Saturday 8 August 2026, with games in every division from Division 1 down to the newly started Division 4.

What to expect

Confirmed fixtures: St Mary’s Rochfortbridge v Tubberclair at Fr. Eamonn O’Brien Park (Division 2, Friday 7 August, 7:00pm); then on Saturday 8 August, Mullingar Shamrocks v Shandonagh at Springfield (Division 1), Moate All Whites v Cill Oige at Moate (Division 2), Tyrrellspass v Multyfarnham at Tyrrellspass (Division 3), Delvin/St Pauls v Milltownpass at Delvin GAA (Division 3), Cill Liúcainne/Killucan v Esker Gaels at SMS Pairc Na Cill Liúcainne (Division 2), Kilbeggan Shamrocks v St. Michaels at Ballycomoyle (Division 4), and Na Dúnta v St Loman’s Mullingar at The Downs (Division 1), all with a 7:00pm throw-in bar the last, which kicks off at 7:45pm. These are underage club fixtures with no admission charge, played as league-format rounds that feed into the county’s minor championship structure. Expect small crowds of parents, club members and younger siblings rather than a wider public turnout, but a genuinely important stage in these players’ football development.

Getting there

Fixtures are spread across the county’s club grounds, from Rochfortbridge and Delvin in the east to Moate in the west. Each ground has car parking on site; check the specific fixture list on the Westmeath GAA website for the exact venue closest to you.
