Mullingar Senior Stage School stages Disney’s Moana Jr at Mullingar Arts Centre over three nights, Thursday 24, Friday 25 and Saturday 26 September 2026, each performance starting at 7pm. The junior musical follows Moana as she sails across the Pacific to save her home island, working alongside the demigod Maui, and is performed by the school’s older young members as their autumn production.
The show compresses the film’s story into a stage musical built for a youth cast, keeping the central journey of Moana leaving her island against her father’s wishes to return a stolen heart and save her community. Expect the same emphasis on courage, self-discovery and connection to the sea that runs through the film, translated into a full staged production with songs, choreography and a young ensemble cast drawn from Mullingar Senior Stage School. As with the school’s other productions at the Arts Centre, the run is spread across three consecutive nights rather than a single performance, giving more of the cast’s family and friends a chance to attend. Tickets are sold directly through the venue’s own booking system, and the centre asks that intending audience members book ahead given the show’s short run.
Mullingar Arts Centre is on Lower Mount Street in the town centre, close to the county library and a short walk from the Market Square. Public car parks serve the town centre within a few minutes’ walk, and the venue is well signposted from the N4 and N52 approaches into Mullingar.
