Kilbeggan Racecourse holds an evening National Hunt meeting on Friday, 21 August 2026, with the first race off at approximately 4:50pm at the track outside the town. It is one of a handful of summer evening fixtures that make Kilbeggan the busiest jumps track in the midlands through July and August, drawing a mixed crowd of regular racegoers and casual visitors out for a warm-weather evening at the track.
Kilbeggan specialises in evening National Hunt racing through the summer, and an August Friday card typically runs to six or seven races over hurdles and fences, with tote and bookmaker betting available throughout the enclosures. Food on site ranges from classic dishes like cottage pie and bacon and cabbage to lighter soup and sandwich options, and the racecourse sells a Summer Party Pack combining admission, a food voucher, a drink voucher and a race card for €23 per person, aimed at groups making a night of it rather than punters here purely for the racing. The track’s small, intimate scale compared to bigger courses means you are never far from the rail, and the run-in past the stands is a good spot to watch the finish of each race.
Kilbeggan Racecourse is at Loughnagore on the edge of Kilbeggan, just off the N6 between Athlone and Tyrrellspass. There is a car park on site, and the track is well signposted from the town for anyone arriving close to the first race.
