Kilbeggan Races - End of Season Meeting

Kilbeggan Racecourse closes out its 2026 season with a meeting on Friday, 4 September 2026, first race approximately 4pm, the day after the track’s Autumn Harvest fixture on 3 September. Run on consecutive evenings, the two September cards bring the curtain down on a summer of evening jump racing at one of Ireland’s most compact and sociable courses before the track goes quiet for the winter.

What to expect

An end-of-season card at Kilbeggan usually carries a slightly different feel to a mid-summer Friday, part celebration of the season just gone, part last chance to catch a night at the races before the evenings draw in. Expect the same format as any Kilbeggan fixture, a run of National Hunt races over hurdles and fences, tote and bookmaker betting in the enclosures, and hot food including cottage pie and bacon and cabbage served from the racecourse kitchens. Because it follows straight on from the previous evening’s Autumn Harvest meeting, regular racegoers often treat the two nights as a short midweek break rather than a single visit, so the atmosphere tends to be a touch more relaxed and social than a standalone fixture at the track.

Getting there

Kilbeggan Racecourse is at Loughnagore on the edge of the town, just off the N6 between Athlone and Tyrrellspass, with parking on site and clear signage from the main street for anyone driving in for the early evening start.
