Wexford FC Women vs Treaty United

At Ferrycarrig Park · Ferrycarrig Park, Crossabeg, Co. Wexford

Wexford FC Women's team during a home match at Ferrycarrig Park

What to Expect

Limerick side Treaty United visit Ferrycarrig Park on Saturday 15 August for a Women’s Premier Division game against Wexford FC Women, kicking off at 18:00. Wexford’s women’s team has a strong pedigree in Irish football, with multiple Women’s National League titles and FAI Women’s Cups won under the Wexford Youths Women’s banner before the full amalgamation with the men’s club in June 2023 folded the women’s side into the single Wexford FC structure. Treaty United are a newer entrant to the top flight of women’s football but have built a competitive squad quickly, so this fixture pits an established Wexford side against an ambitious, fast rising one.

The match is played at Ferrycarrig Park, the same ground used by the men’s First Division team, about 7km outside Wexford town near the N11. The stadium holds around 2,500 spectators with 609 covered seats in its single stand and standing room elsewhere, and it has been owned by the Football Association of Ireland since 2020. Mid August evenings here still have plenty of daylight at kick off, so this is a good introduction fixture for anyone bringing children or newcomers to women’s League of Ireland football, with a shorter, calmer walk from car to turnstile than bigger stadiums offer. Wexford’s youth structure continues to feed players into this squad, which is part of why the club has stayed competitive in the division despite the county’s smaller population base compared to some rivals.
