Bray Air Display 2026

At Bray Seafront · Seafront, Bray, Co. Wicklow

Aerobatic aircraft over Bray Seafront during the air display

Bray Seafront hosts the Bray Air Display on Saturday, 1 August 2026, the 19th year of what has grown into one of the biggest free events on the east coast. Ground entertainment opens at noon with a food and craft village, an Irish Defence Forces static display and model aircraft from the Model Aeronautics Council of Ireland, before the aerial display itself takes to the sky at 3pm. Vintage aircraft, aerobatic teams and solo pilots perform over the bay in front of crowds that regularly number in the tens of thousands.

What to expect

The display runs through the afternoon above the seafront, with vintage classics, aerobatic acts and solo performers flying set pieces over the water while the crowd watches from the promenade, the beach or the surrounding hillside. On the ground, the Irish Defence Forces set up a static display and information stand, and the Model Aeronautics Council of Ireland shows off radio-controlled aircraft for anyone curious about flying at a smaller scale. A food and craft village runs the length of the seafront, and helicopter rides over Bray Head are available for those who want their own view of the display from the air. Because the event is free and outdoors, families tend to arrive well before the noon start to claim a spot along the promenade.

Getting there

Bray Seafront is a short walk from Bray DART and rail station, which is the most practical way in on the day. Organisers ask anyone driving to pre-book parking online and to arrive before 2pm, since roads around the seafront close as crowds build ahead of the 3pm display.

While you’re in Bray

The display draws crowds to the same stretch of promenade that runs toward Bray Head and the harbour, so it is easy to combine with a walk either before or after. There is more to see in Bray and across Co. Wicklow.
