Belturbet Hens' Shed - Weekly Wednesday Gathering

What to Expect

Belturbet Hens’ Shed is an open women’s community group with over 100 members, meeting every Wednesday from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Goods Store at the old Railway Station in Belturbet. The group tackles social isolation by providing a safe, welcoming space for women to socialise and build friendships. Weekly activities include crafts, CPR refresher courses, cookery demonstrations, line dancing, and monthly chat-and-chill mornings. The group is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026.

Good to Know

• Every Wednesday, 10:30am to 12:30pm, at The Goods Store, Railway Station, Belturbet.

• Free to attend; all women from Belturbet, Cavan and surrounding areas are welcome.

• Over 100 members; chaired by Maureen Tully.

• Activities vary weekly - crafts, music, wellbeing workshops, fundraising events.

Getting There

The Goods Store is located at the old Railway Station in Belturbet Town. Belturbet is on the R200 approximately 24km north-west of Cavan Town.
